We have a super new alarm system, very secure and easy to use. Like every alarm system when we leave we have an exact number of seconds to leave and secure the house before the alarm is triggered. Today it was easy; H couldn’t wait to get into the car with BOB (Big Older Brother) and LOB (Little Older Brother). Monday morning may be interesting.
We need an alarm system, we’re going to Center Parcs (Whoop).
Monday 22 February 2016
We set the alarm off before we were even able to close the front door. This needs practice.
M: “Sweetie, you stay on the mat and don’t move until I’ve closed the door”
H: “I will”
She didn’t. After running to the alarm system, switching it on and turning around to make a dash for the door we collide.
M: “This time, you really must stay there and if you need me, shout me”
It is literally a four metre run in a straight line from where she is stood.
H: “I don’t want to Mummy”
M: “You need to sweetie”
I manage it only by picking her up and carrying her to and from the alarm control, side stepping Honey on the way back, closing the door with one hand just in time to prevent Honey’s escape. The door is locked in time. Phew!
M: cough, cough, cough, cough, cough
H: “Oh Mummy, are you alright?”
M: “I’m fine sweetie, it’s just a cough”
H: “Okey – dokey”
I have headache. I also have the sound track to “On a Clear Day You Can See Forever” in the car. Thank Goodness for Barbra Streisand.
